Registration Opens for Metal Jackets' "STEM Is A Girl Thing" Workshop
Prince William County, VA - February 3, 2026 - The Metal Jackets Robotics Team is excited to announce for its upcoming STEM Is A Girl Thing workshop, an interactive, hands-on event designed to empower and inspire young girls to explore science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
The STEM Is A Girl Thing workshop will provide participants with engaging STEM challenges, robotics demonstrations, and opportunities to learn directly from female students leaders from Team 2068 and mentors from the Team. The event aims to break down barriers, build confidence, and highlight the creativity and leadership opportunities within technical fields.
"Opening registration marks an important step in expanding access to STEM for young women in our community," said the Business Team of the Metal Jackets. "We want students to know that STEM is welcoming, exciting, and absolutely a place where they belong."
The workshop is open to 1st through 5th graders, and NO prior STEM experience is required. Space is limited, and early registration is encouraged.
The Metal Jackets are hosting this workshop as part of their ongoing commitment to STEM outreach, equity, and community engagement. Through initiatives like STEM Is A Girl Thing, the Team works to inspire the next generation of innovators and leaders.
