Our Robótica Para Todos (RPT) initiative then expanded to Honduras, building on the momentum and success of our chapter in Ecuador. Inspired by the incredible enthusiasm from students and educators there, we replicated the same model with two Honduran schools—this time with even greater support from Northern Virginia FLL teams. These teams eagerly donated additional LEGO robotics kits, excited to share the joy of STEM with new friends across the globe.
Just like in Ecuador, our team created tailored curriculum materials to help teachers and students feel confident as they explored robotics for the first time. A few of our team members even traveled to Honduras in person, spending time in classrooms to provide hands‑on instruction, mentorship, and guidance as the new teams learned to build, code, and collaborate.
Once again, the teams established through RPT became the first competitive FLL teams in their entire region, marking a historic step forward for STEM education in their area. One of the Honduran teams went on to compete virtually in our FLL competition—earning the Judges Award, a powerful recognition of their dedication, problem‑solving, and willingness to push past obstacles.
Since then, the schools have seen a significant surge in student interest, with even more young people eager to join the robotics program and explore STEM pathways. RPT’s expansion into Honduras stands as another milestone in our commitment to making robotics truly accessible to everyone, everywhere.
